I posted my last post because a friend of mine asked me how to get his TV shows on DVD into iTunes so that he (read: his kids) can eventually watch them on AppleTV. However, this practice falls in a severe gray area between legal and illegal activity. In posting this, I hope it becomes easier for people to watch content they have purchased on DVD on devices other than a DVD player, mostly because it is convenient and largely because it is very frustrating to have your little kids get their grubby paws on a DVD disc – especially one they just got as a present – and ruin it.
All of that said – reader beware. I can’t be held responsible if my instructions land you in jail.
